The Queen of Denmark visited Lerbjerg Forest in Denmark last week to see some of the restored forest bogs, restored streams, and new hiking trails, which also incorporate a disabled-friendly walkway.

The Queen is patron of Denmark’s Nature Fund.

The chairman of the Nature Fund, Bengt Holst, thanked the Queen for the visit and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Nature Fund’s partners.

The 120-hectare forest is about 3km south of Hvalsø, which is about 50km west of the Danish capital, Copenhagen.

The new walkway is part of the popular hiking route, Skjoldungestien.
