The Autumn Footprints Festival offers a choice of 24 guided walks from 13 to 28 September.

Organisers, the Amber Valley Borough Council and regional charity Groundwork Five Counties, said there will be talks, as well as walks for everybody of all abilities.

Set in picturesque Derbyshire, the festival, which first took place in 2002, takes place in an area known for its natural beauty and superb scenery. It is popular with both novice and experience walkers wanting to enjoy the beautiful colours of autumn and the area’s views, undulating countryside, industrial heritage and attractive towns and villages.

Led by knowledgeable local volunteers and staff, walkers will discover a variety of walks to explore local heritage, natural history and wildlife. The routes take in walks alongside rivers and canals, as well as through open countryside, towns and villages.

Most of the 24 walks are free, although there are some parking charges involved for motorists. Booking is essential for all walks.
