Close to the Peak District National Park, Chesterfield offers more than just a crooked spire and a football team that is back in the Football League.
The town is hosting its own walking festival, which this year runs from May 11 to 19.
The more than 35 walks are graded from easy access – suitable for people with conventional wheelchairs and pushchairs – to easy to strenuous.
The website includes booking information as well as ideas on places to stay for visitors interested in participating in the event. It also includes clickable walk links with details on dates and times, cost, accessibility, walk length, dog-friendliness, how to get to the walk start, and maps.
Walks include a bluebell walk, Ogston and Crich circular, Eddlestow and Ashover circular, pub history tour, Chesterfield circular, museums, a bee walk, art, bridges and rivers, industrial heritage, and many more.
