British outdoor brand Rab has launched the award-winning Cirrus Ultra Hoody.
This synthetic insulation jacket is designed for activities in extreme winter conditions. Filled with PrimaLoft ThermoPlume+ synthetic insulation, the Cirrus Ultra Hoody offers warmth and comfort in a compact package, making it ideal for winter mountaineering, ski touring, and ice climbing.
Rab said the Cirrus Ultra Hoody pushes the boundaries of technical performance gear: As Rab’s lightest and warmest loose-fill synthetic jacket to date, it closely mimics down’s lofting properties while effectively managing damp, cold weather. Equipped with Rab’s heat-reflective TILT technology and body-mapped insulation, it provides instant warmth and comfort in any environment.
PrimaLoft ThermoPlume+ is made from 100% post-consumer recycled material and has a patented structure that utilises fibre balls and plumes to create an insulation that’s soft, feather-like, and imitates the feel of down. The synthetic fibre balls work in tandem with the plumes to form a unified structure that creates a scaffolding effect, delivering a resilient loft that resists clumping, even after washing.
The Cirrus Ultra Hoody’s feature set comprises: Body mapped PrimaLoft ThermoPlume+ insulation made from 100% post-consumer recycled material; TILT lining technology for optimal warmth and performance; water-resistant recycled Pertex Quantum Pro fabric with fluorocarbon-free DWR helps deflect the elements, and a helmet compatible hood with rear elastication, concealed internal face adjustment and stiffened peak for increased protection.
It also has a two-way lightweight YKK VISLON centre front zip with insulated zip baffle and fleece lined chin guard, as well as two YKK zipped hand-pockets, and two YKK zipped, insulated chest-pockets.
There is an integrated storage pocket with harness attachment loop, internal elasticated cuffs for an optimum fit with or without gloves, and dual sided rear hem adjustment with anti-snag tether.
A medium size weighs 548g, while a size 10 comes in at 494g.
