Peak Performance introduces new hiking jacket

Swedish brand Peak Performance has launched the Ridge HIPE ACE 3L Hiking Jacket, a lightweight and waterproof shell designed for high intensity mountain adventure, and the first Peak Performance garment to feature the newly-developed HIPE ACE polypropylene membrane.

Peak Performance garments from the HIPE range are guaranteed waterproof, windproof, breathable, fully seam-sealed, and free from added PFAS. The new HIPE ACE hydrophobic microporous membrane technology means the three-layer ripstop fabric has a 20,000mm hydrostatic rating, which the company said guarantees the Ridge’s performance in even prolonged torrential rain.

The jacket has a breathability rating of 20,000g/m2. It features a full-front two-way YKK AquaGuard zipper for extra ventilation, Velcro adjustable sleeves, and a drawstring at the hem to keep out the elements when needed.

The fixed, adjustable hood is compatible with climbing and bike helmets. There are two large, zippered hand pockets and an inner mesh pocket for essentials, and an integrated RECCO rescue reflector.

The Peak Performance Ridge HIPE ACE 3L Hiking Jacket for men and women, is priced at $400 and is available at peakperformance.com.
