Haglöfs’ latest TIGHT additions—ranging from a hip pack to a duffle bag—are equipped for hiking trails, travel days, and more.
Over 30 years since Haglöfs’ TIGHT backpack debuted, the Swedish outdoor brand is introducing several new products to the collection. Branching out from the original backpack design while still embodying the TIGHT tradition, the new products include a tote bag, duffel bag, two hip packs, and a pocket bag.
“For years, we have expanded the TIGHT collection vertically, exploring different sizes, colours, and materials, but now, we are stretching the concept horizontally so we can cover even more areas of our consumers’ outdoor lifestyles,” said Niklas Karlsson, senior product manager of Footwear and Hardware at Haglöfs.
“Whether they are used on the hiking trail, during a work commute, or while exploring the city, these bags integrate the TIGHT tradition into everyday life.”
The next generation of the original TIGHT Backpack
First introduced in 1993, the TIGHT Backpack has undergone many transformations over the years, yet several defining characteristics remain the same, like its teardrop shape. According to Lennart Ekberg, the original designer of the TIGHT Backpack, the idea for the TIGHT was born from the need for a smaller and more ergonomic backpack that could withstand day trips, mountain biking, and freeskiing.
“At the time, all small daypacks looked the same: top loaded with two straps, and ergonomically imperfect—they would swing back and forth quite a lot,” Lennart said.
“We wanted to do something more modern and came up with the idea to make it more drop-shaped with a lower centre of gravity. We were also among the first to use anatomical straps that follow the curve of the body so it fits better, hugging the bag closer to your back.”
Today, the TIGHT Backpack continues to be a bestseller. As the range continues to grow, Haglöfs holds fast to the original TIGHT vision while adapting to the needs of modern adventurers.
TIGHT MEDIUM
The latest generation of the original TIGHT backpack, TIGHT MEDIUM features: 100% recycled main fabric, weather resistant and highly durable; PFAS-free DWR-treated surfaces to help repel water and dirt; a teardrop-shaped front and side panels for a low centre of gravity; anatomically shaped shoulder straps; a zippered front pocket; and a detachable ice axe loop.
TIGHT HIP PACK 1 & 3.5 L
The TIGHT HIP PACK comes in two sizes. The 1-litre size offers just enough space to carry essentials, while the 3.5-litre size holds the necessities and a little more—for example a water bottle, small umbrella, and trail snacks.
The packs are made from durable ripstop in 100% recycled polyester are PFAS-free DWR for water resistance, and can be worn as a hip or cross-body bag. They have an internal zippered pocket and key holder, and an external pocket.
TIGHT POCKET BAG
The TIGHT POCKET BAG is a flat and durable pocket bag. It has a slim design with a long, adjustable strap and several small pockets and attachment points for organizing the essentials.
Made from 100% recycled polyester, the bag is PFAS-free DWR for water resistance, has a flat design that fits under a jacket, and has an adjustable strap. It also has an internal zippered pocket with key holder and a small external pocket.
TIGHT TOTE 25
The TIGHT TOTE 25 is a convertible tote bag. It can be carried in hand, over the shoulder or, using stowaway shoulder straps, be carried on the back.
The tote has an extra-reinforced bottom, a main compartment with a padded laptop sleeve, and an open side pocket.
TIGHT DUFFLE 50
The TIGHT DUFFLE 50 is a durable and water-resistant duffle bag. It offers flexible carrying options and various pockets, compartments, and attachment points.
It can be carried three different ways: in hand, cross-body, or over-the-shoulder. It features a durable and water-resistant bottom material, and a main zipper with locking capability.
