Carrick-on-Shannon will host Ireland’s first National Trail Conference from August 31 to September 3. The event is being organised by Leitrim Development Company in conjunction with the ILDN and Rural Recreational Officers around the country.
Participants will be able to experience a collaborative adventure with Leitrim’s largest outdoor recreational event, The Carrick Camino, an annual 35km hike, on Day 1. Tickets for the linear walk from Ballyfarnon, Co Roscommon, to Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim, are €60.
Day 2 features a range of outdoor excursions such as Lough Key Triathlon, guided walks, stand-up paddling, outdoor wellness experiences, orienteering, cycling, foraging workshops, kayaking and more.
These events set the stage for two days at the Landmark Hotel Carrick where attendees will hear from keynote speakers, visit exhibitions, attend trail building workshops, learn about new trail development techniques and connect with like-minded individuals. Tickets for the event are available here.
