Ursula Martin never thought she would walk 3,700 miles around Wales, but following a cancer diagnosis it seemed like a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
Her best-seller, One Woman Walks Wales, published in 2018, documented the journey, and now she’s back with another volume, this time the recounting of a 5,550-mile walk from Wales to Ukraine and back again, perhaps because she missed the bus home.
On the way, Swansea-born Martin visits Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Italy, France and Spain.
To ‘celebrate’ the release of One Woman Walks Europe, Martin is embarking on a walking book tour covering 1,735 miles, commencing in Wales and then moving on to walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats. She will be calling into bookshops along the way talking about her journey, the discoveries made on the way and hopefully having the occasional cup of tea.
Her journey can be followed online through her website onewomanwalks.com. The book, published by ‎Honno Welsh Women’s Press, is available now, with an RRP of £12.99.
